Professor Eshed was the founding Director of Space Defense program of the Israeli Ministry of Defense from 1981 until 2011. Raised in the South of Tel-Aviv before the establishment of the State of Israel, he served in the IDF, reaching the rank of Brigadier General. In 1967 he was the recipient of the Commander-in-Chief’s medal of honor for the special technologies he developed for the Intelligence Corps. He served as head of the R&D department at the command center of the Head of the Intelligence Corps. After his discharge he became a professor at the Asher Institute for Space Research at the Technion. He is a three-time recipient of the Israel Defense Award, for his innovative and top-secret contributions to Israel’s security.

Esther is the CEO of Nielsen Innovate, a technological incubator and investment fund for early stage startups. Before that she was the co-founder and CEO of PartamHightech a private VC. Esther is an experienced executive with over 20 years of a proven track record in deal making and business management, facilitating deals of private and public companies, jointly worth several billions of dollars. Esther’s business expertise covers a broad range of activities including legal counseling, fund raising, M&A, IPO’s, business development and hands on management. Esther is also involved in several non-profit organizations and holds an LL.B from Tel-Aviv University and an MBA from IDC Business School.

Eden Shochat is a partner at Aleph, a $140 million venture capital fund focused on serving Israeli entrepreneurs who want to build big, scalable, global businesses. Prior to founding Aleph, Eden was a general partner at Genesis where he focused on seed-stage investments. He also co-founded face.com, the world leader in massive, web-scale face recognition in social networks, recently acquired by Facebook. He also was the CTO of Aternity, where he led the strategic product direction for its dominant user-experience monitoring platform.  Entrepreneurship is a passion for Eden, who started The Junction that was voted the #1 startup program in Israel. In addition, he’s one of the organizers of the annual Geekcongeeks conference and teaches the Zell Entrepreneurship program at the IDC in Herzliya.

Born in 1951, raised in Ashkelon and Ramat Hasharon. He served in the IDF, reaching the rank of Major and continued his reserve duty until the age of 52. He studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion in Haifa and went to serve in various key positions at Coca-Cola Israel and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco. Since 2001 he is the owner and chairman of Globrands Ltd, a consumer goods company specializing in import, marketing and distribution of leading tobacco and food products. An avid entrepreneur, he is also owner and partner in several other business activities such Israeli and international real estate, solar energy plants, high-tech companies and more. Besides his business ventures Yaron plays the drums in a Jazz trio, is active in an orchestra and other non-profit organizations.

Alex Gilady is Israel’s most decorated television executive. A legendary producer of some of the Israeli Broadcasting Authority most high-profile and historic television events (Eurovision Song Contest in 1979 and the Sate-Visit of Egyptian President Saadat 1977), he has earned worldwide prizes and praises.  As Senior Vice President of NBC Sports and Olympics he was awarded 7 Emmy Awards and he is the Chairman of the International Athletics Federation TV Commission as well as chairman of the International Basketball Federation TV Commission.  He is the first Israeli ever to be elected to the International Olympic Committee (1994 – ) and is now Vice Chairman of the IOC’s Coordination Commission for the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.

Shmuel Ben-Tovim has experienced a diversified career in both the private and public sectors. Currently he runs Ben-Tovim Consultants Ltd., a boutique investment bank, and is the President of City TLV. He has served  as Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in London, Chief Economic Adviser to the Minister of Industry, Trade & Tourism, Israel’s Consul & Trade Commissioner to the USA and Mayor of Kfar Shmaryahu. In the private sector he was Assistant Director General of Bank Leumi and also served as non-executive director in Bezeq Ltd. and Israel Chemicals Ltd. Shmuel was a board member of the Israel Export Institute and the Tel-Aviv Chamber of Commerce. He holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from the Hebrew University.

Dr. Ayal Itzkovitz is a technologically savvy entrepreneur, an investor, and an advisor to startups that have proven a high degree of technology innovation. Ayal is involved in early stage ventures as well as turnaround and special situations.

Until mid-2012, Ayal was a Vice President of Oracle Corporation, heading the Israeli operations of Oracle Communications Global Business Unit.

Prior to Oracle, Ayal co-founded and served as the President and CEO of Convergin, the inventor and a lead provider of the telecom service broker technology. Convergin was acquired by Oracle in 2010 to enable the disruptive move of IT to the core of telecom networks. Earlier in his career, Ayal was one of Microsoft’s first employees in Israel.

Prior to his entrepreneurial section, Ayal was a faculty professor of Computer Science in New York University (NYU). Ayal holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and is considered an expert in the areas of distributed systems and the foundation of cloud computing. He is the inventor of more than 10 patents in these fields and published numerous articles in prominent scientific journals. Ayal’s work on cluster computing was mentioned among the Technion’s exceptional research achievements.
